Meaning “beautiful sight” in Italian, the Bella Vista neighborhood in the South Philadelphia section of the city certainly lives up to it’s name. Best known for being home to the Nine Street Italian Market, the nation’s oldest outdoor market, locals and tourists alike come here to shop for the specialty cheeses, artisan breads, fresh produce and yes, the cannolis. However, don’t let the name fool you. The Italian Market also offers some of the best Mexican and Vietnamese delicacies in all of Philadelphia. Pho sure.
